Students of Bachelors of Business Information Systems (2008-2012) of KCM organized a talent show "Rays of Hope" among the socially challenged children on November 25, 2009 at the Amrit Bhog Party Palace, Kalikasthan. The competition was organized with the motive to encourage children to showcase their skills and to raise funds for a children's shelter home in Dolakha. There 17 performances included solo acting, musical performance, solo dance, group dance, solo singing, speech, and poetry recital. The participants were from 12 institutions including Sath Sath Nepal, SOS Sanothimi, Nava Kiran, Maiti Nepal, NYOF, Children Protection Home, St Xaviers, Children and Youth First, Fresh Nepal, SOS Jorpati, Surya Nepal, and Prayas Nepal.The chief guest for the program was Honorable Prime Minister Mr. Madhav Kumar Nepal, who inaugurated the session by lighting a Panas. He shared that he was happy to see the special kids coming forward to demonstrate their talent. He said that every individual possessed some kind of skills which could be enhanced further if provided with the right opportunity. Dr. Bimal Prasad Koirala, Chairperson of KCM shared that it was an immense pleasure for KCM to see its students getting involved in such great endeavors. KCM celebrated its 14th annual day on August 30, 2009, Sunday within KCM premises. The chief guest for the program was Mr. Prakash Saran Mahat, honorable minister for energy and water resources .The program started at around 3 pm with the chief guest lighting the panas. It was followed by a welcome dance. The annual day saw overwhelming participation of students this year which was remarkable achievement of this annual day.
