A faculty meet was conducted on the 11th of August 2014 consisting of teachers and teaching assistants from the 2nd to the 4th year and in the presence of the Principal, Vice Principal, Academic Director and other Coordinators.
There, the principal addressed everybody and congratulated the entire KCM family for upholding the institution’s name as one of the best business schools in the country; running under Kathmandu University’s Affiliation. He, however, reiterated that KCM did not want to just confine as a national brand, but move forward and compete in the global arena. Therefore, it undertook a new partnership with Siam University, Thailand, and will be running its two BBA courses namely BBA in Marketing and BBA in Finance and Banking from the upcoming session.
Then, Prof. Dr. Pushpa Raj Adhikary, the academic director of KCM took over and taking reference of the “Bloom’s Taxonomy”, elaborated an alternative teaching pedagogy which would facilitate remembering, understanding and also applying, analyzing, evaluating and innovating attributes in students leading to higher order thinking.
Finally, Mr Madhu Sudan Gautam, the senior faculty of Economics and Research Methodology presented different assessment tools like IT enabled daily attendance, article/ case reviews, conceptual reviews, class participation and interaction, discussion on the daily issues in the media, monthly exams, field visits, term papers, research papers and industry exposure; which would help the faculties to check the progress of the students thoroughly and comprehensively.
